Smiles

Today was a dreary fall day and very windy and cold. So, we spent the day inside and that means finding things to pass the time with 2 little ones. Isabella did a lot of coloring and painting, She even "helped" clean too. The best part was playing with the girls and getting Gianna to smile for the camera. She has been smiling for us for a few weeks now, but I finally caught it on camera.

Smiling....sorry a bit blurry.

A big "cheese"!

"Punkin" Time

As Isabella says..."punkin patch fun"!  We went to a couple of different pumpkin patches last week.  The first one we went to, we went with cousin Jackson, Aunt Jill, Gammy and Aunt Debbie.  Isabella loved picking out pumkins to bring home.  The other one we went to had fun things for kids to do.  She went into the petting zoo and saw cows, sheep, goats, ducks, miniature pony and bunnies!  They also had a hay bale maze you could run through and we also went on a hay ride where we saw more horses!  Isabella had a great time....and I'm sure Gianna did too. ;)  I've posted some of the pictures taken from each place.  Happy Fall!!

Fall Is In The Air

The weather is slowing turning cooler and the leaves are falling off the trees. I admit I'm a little sad that the season is changing. I LOVE hot summer days! I do like the fall, it's just that we all know what comes next. WINTER!! Well, to brighten my days, all I need to do is look at the joy our two little girls bring. We have been enjoying our time together and it is really fun to see how sweet Isabella is to her baby sister.

Today Gianna is 8 weeks old! It doesn't seem possible! It is so neat to see how she keeps changing. She is smiling more and more. I'm waiting, one of these times, a little laugh will come out of her. You can tell she wants to. It has been hard to get a picture of her smiling....but today I got a pretty good shot. We are still enjoying the fact that Gianna is sleeping most of the night!  I keep waiting for that full nights sleep though.  Beggers can't be choosers....

Loves her bathtime!
Here are some pictures taken over the last couple of weeks.

Gianna and Monkey

Having fun together after nap time.  Oh, and Gianna "gave" Isabella that monkey as a gift when she was born.  I didn't realize when I ordered it, that it is about as big as Isabella!!

Wearing her spider headband from U. Nicholas and A. Amy

I realized I didn't have any pictures of just Gianna and I.

Just a sweet picture.

Haircut

Today I took Isabella to get another haircut.  This time it needed to be more than a quick trim.  It really was getting a bit out of hand.  We went to a "kid friendly" salon where they cater to children.  She got to sit in a pink Hummer and watch a movie!  Couldn't get any better than that really.  Oh, but at the end she got a sucker and a balloon. I was a little nervous that she would scream and cry, but she did just great!!  The lady also made a little heart shaped pony tail and sprayed some glitter spray in her hair!  What fun!!

Just getting started

Doing so well sitting still...watching a movie.

So cute!!

1 Month Old

Our little Gianna is growing like a weed!  This time is just flying by, so I am trying my best to take in every precious moment we have.  She is doing really good.  I'm sometimes afraid to say how easy she has been.  She has been sleeping a 5 hour stretch at night, so that I only have to get up once in the middle of the night.  The next feeding is usually early morning, when I need to be getting up anyway.  I hope she continues on this path....because Mama likes her sleep!  ;)
Gianna 4 weeks

Our fun little Isabella continues to keep us on our toes.  She still loves her baby sister.....but sometimes shows that she is missing all of the attention.  That is a normal part of being an older sister.  She is truly a little comedian too.  A doesn't go by that we don't get a good laugh from her.  She has really started to take up dancing...which of course, I am so glad about.  You can see in the video below.  Unfortunately, we don't know who's moves she has yet.  (Hopefully mine!)

One of Isabella's favorite thing to do is read books.  She now has gotten in the habit of wanting to read some in her bed after waking up.

Two Weeks Already?

Gianna 2 weeks

The time is already flying by!  Today Gianna is 2 weeks old and seems to be growing by the second!  We had a doctor visit yesterday to check her weight and make sure she still is healthy.  Everything looked good!  Gianna is now weighing 6 pounds 14 oz and is 20 1/4 inches long!!  She gained an ounce a day in 1 week!  It is really crazy how different siblings can be.  Isabella was and still is on the other side of the spectrum, as far as weight/growth is concerned.  Gianna is definitely going to pass her up sooner rather than later.  Everyone tells us that you can't compare the two.  We are trying not to, but what a difference an "average" sized baby can make.  Gianna has really been a great baby so far.  She loves to eat...as you can tell from the weight gain....and she is sleeping very well at night.  Last night she went with a 5 hour stretch in between feedings!  Since I love my sleep, Mommy was very happy!  Isabella is still enjoying her baby sister.  I hope that continues.  She really does try to be a little helper and it is cute to watch.

Gianna Christine Martini

We would like to annouce the arrival of the newest addtion to our family.  On Tuesday, August 17th, at 10:06am, Gianna Christine Martini joined the world.  She weighed 6lb 9oz and is 18 3/4inches long.  She has been doing very well, although, a little jaundiced.  So far she has been a good eater and sleeper.  We should be able to go home with her tomorrow morning.  Sister Isabella is always very excited to see the baby.....she doesn't care much about Mom and Dad right now.  It is very cute how she likes to look at Gianna.  We just hope that she continues to love on her once we are all at home.  In the meantime, Isabella is having a GREAT time with Gammy and Gampy, getting very spoiled!    I don't think she will want to come home!  Anthony and I are doing well too.  I am very ready to go home and ready to meet the challenges that will be coming.  We are just so thankful for our healthy little girl and that my c-section went well, without any complications.  Thank you everything for your thoughts and prayers!  I will do my best to keep this blog updated with the newest milestones of Gianna and Isabella!  And, of course, more pictures.

I should also include some things Isabella is up to these days.  She continues to make us laugh and is always learning something new.  It is amazing how fast children grow up and learn things.  I have to brag a little and say that Isabella can now say her vowels.  She also likes to sing along to the ABC song.  She has started to repeat things everyone says.  So, we need to be careful the things we say.  We have had a fun summer and are sad that it is coming to an end.  We spent a lot of it at the neighborhood pool and just playing outside.

Enjoy the pictures below!
