Happy 4th of July!

For Isabella's first 4th of July, we participated in our neighborhood's annual bike/stroller/wagon parade. I decorated Isabella's stoller and we joined cousin Jackson, Aunt Jill and Uncle Alex, and Gampy and Gammy even came! It was a fun little walk. We stopped at our neighbors house afterwards for some treats and then Isabella had to go home for a much needed nap. We were going to go swimming, but the weather didn't cooperate very well. We then went to Aunt Jill & Uncle Alex's for a BBQ. It was a fun day! Thank you to all of those who have fought and are fighting for our freedom!!

The start of the parade. We are waiting for the firetruck to lead us!

Isabella was a little tired by this point. The parade cut into her nap time. This is the best photo I could get. No smiles from her at this point.

Summertime Fun

It is finally summer. Yeah!! After much needed rain, now it is starting to get hot very quickly. We are so glad that we have neighborhood pools to go swim in now that it is hot! So far, Isabella loves going to the pool. As you can see in the video she has a little float that she can sit in and can touch the bottom of the baby pool So, it is very nice for Mom because I can just sit back and watch her go. (Thank's Aunt Debbie!) We have learned though, after the first couple of times, that Isabella needs to wear a swim shoe because she ended up getting sores on the bottom of her big toes. I haven't looked to see if there are small enough swim shoes, so in the mean time, she wears socks. Isabella looks kind of silly, but it serves the purpose. (She will hate me later I'm sure.) I think her floaty is essentially helping her get closer to walking....in my opinion. She really gets around the little pool. Unfortunately for the other kids in the pool, she doesn't have much control yet and sometimes it is like bumper cars! Other times though, she will just kick back and float. She also likes to drink the water. GROSS!

Of course, last Sunday was Father's Day. Anthony's first Father's Day. It was a really nice day and I think he enjoyed it. We hosted the Martini's/Saundry's for a BBQ. It was a fun/relaxing time. Happy Father's Day to all of you Fathers!

I wanted to include a few more random pictures of Isabella. We can't believe that she is almost 1 year old! The time has really gone by fast. She is now getting so much more of a personallity and it is fun to watch the changes.

Isabella loves to run her hand through her hair while eating!

Having fun playing with her new toy!

11 Months!

Well today Isabella turns 11 months old! I can't believe that in one more month she will be a 1 year old! After those first few months, it seems as though the time has really gone by fast. She is still just a little peanut, but continues to do something new everyday! This morning Anthony found her in her crib sitting up playing with her "Polly" dolly. That is the first time she has been able to sit up from a laying position!

Isabella continues to love to stand against the sofa and "cruise" along the edge or stand at the sliding glass door. So, yesterday I bought her a little toy that is a table and has things to play with on top so that she can stand up against that. The only problem she has now, is that she doesn't know how to pull herself up onto these things so she crawls to them and just looks up and does her little whine sound. She is still only "army" crawling, but my guess is that she will walk before getting the regular crawling down.
We are so glad that it is summer now...once the rain stops...because Isabella just loves being outside. We still go on walks about everyday and we are looking forward to going to the pool more and more. Isabella is also looking forward to having some visitors come in July just in time for her 1st Birthday! It will be so much fun!

The Heart Walk

This past Saturday was the American Heart Association Heart Walk. Anthony, in years past, has been a volunteer for the walk. This year he did not voluteer so we got to walk the 5K with Isabella and Gampy and Uncle Nicholas....and Armani, Nicholas's dog. It was a beautiful morning for the walk and we had a good time. Isabella got fussy mid way through because it was cutting into her nap time. Other than that, she liked watching all of the people and dogs. We know that heart disease affects all of us in some way, so it was nice to be able to participate. Oh, and Anthony was one of the "top walkers" raising over $2000.00!! We took a couple of pictures to share with you. We hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Summertime Fun In The Sun

On Sunday we went to our neighborhood pool for the first time this summer. At first Isabella played in the kiddie pool with her little friend Kate and then during "adult swim", Daddy took Isabella into the big pool. She seemed to really enjoy the water, even though the temperature was a little cooler than when we were in Florida. Cousin Jackson came a little later, so Isabella didn't get to play with him in the pool. There will be many more days for that I am sure!

Isabella having fun in the big pool!

A funny picture of Isabella's crazy hair-do after her bath after coming home from the pool!

Jumping Jumping

Isabella has been getting some leg exercises in recently. Just in time for summer! Her cousin Jackson lent us his "johnny jumper" and Isaballa just loves it! We think it is kind of funny to watch her, so I took video. (And yes, she does have the hiccups.)

As side note...for those of you that get an automatic email from the blog and you can't view the video, you will have to go to the actual website to view it. Let me know if you have any question about it!!

We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. We did even though it was a pretty soggy one. Our newly planted flowers and grass look awesome though!! On Sunday, we did have some sunlight while we were at Jill and Alex's house for a BBQ. Below are a couple of pictures from the day.

Daddy is reading one of Isabella's favorite books to her.

OOPS! Isabella's so skinny that her jeans fell down! It is hard to find pants that fit her that is for sure. I had to tie a belt around her to keep them up!

Isabella Flies Again & Finally, 2 Teeth

Isabella and Mommy took another trip to Peoria to visit Grandma & Grandpa Hohulin and all the aunts, uncles and cousins. We spent 2 weeks there and the time went by so fast. We were thankful that this time the weather was much nicer than at Christmas. The first few days of our trip were not the most pleasant because poor Isabella was teething pretty bad. Then finally, her 2 bottom teeth cut through and she was a new person! So yes, she now has 2 little teeth....so cute.

We also tried to work on our crawling while we were there and Isabella is getting closer each day. Now that we are home she can "army crawl" very fast to get something she wants.

We had a great time spending time with Grandma H. and seeing Grandpa H. a lot. Grandpa enjoyed Isabella a bit more this time. (As you can see in the attached pictures.) We don't know when we will make another trip there.....maybe at Thanksgiving time. We sure do miss everyone though and are excited to see some of the family here in Denver in a couple of months.
