Our baby, Gianna, is a 2 year old! She acts like a 4 year old. I want my baby back. :) She has definitely filled our lives with much laughter. She is so happy go lucky and always smiling....even when she is whining. I have a feeling she will be our "clown" of the family. It is crazy how fast she has changed. She is talking so much now. It seems like that has happened within the last month. She loves to dance with Isabella and her favorite toys are her baby dolls. She will wrap one up in a blanket and feed it a bottle. Then she will stand and rock it to sleep. Very cute!
The night of her birthday, we went out for pizza at one of our favorites. Grandma, Aunt Diane and Hannah were here to visit and celebrate with us! We had a fun night.
Her present from Grandma.
The next day, we had the Martini family over to celebrate Gianna's birthday again. She loves the "Bubble Guppies" cartoon, so that was her birthday theme this year. There were a lot of polka dots (bubbles) and a bubble machine to make it all complete.
Thanks to Diane and Hannah for helping me with the decorations.
Sisters having fun!
Bubble time!
Yummy cake!
Saying "cheese"! She loves the camera.
Gianna was also helping us sing "happy birthday" to her. I don't know why, but I missed getting it on video. For those of you that might remember what last year was like with the cake, this year was not as messy. :)
Isabella is a 4 year old! She is not so little anymore. The changes we have seen in her over the past year are many.
She had a little friend party, Strawberry Shortcake theme, of course. It was a fun afternoon. A few days later, we had the Martini family over for some more birthday fun.
Isabella took swimming lessons the entire month of June. We signed her up at a day care, just down the street from our house. During the summer, this day care provides Red Cross Certified swimming instructors to teach kids, starting at age 3. The child does not have to go to that day care full time, to take the lessons.
Her lessons were everyday, Monday thru Friday for 30 minutes. Even though it became a nuisance to go everyday, the outcome was amazing! Parents were not allowed into the lesson, except twice. The last day is when most of the pictures were taken. She was so proud when she finished everything the instructor had her do, she just looked at Gianna and I and smiled. Then she would shout out a little scream of excitment!
Isabella did not swim at all before the class started. Now, she can swim well, pick up rings under water and float on her back all by herself. It has really helped her confidence in the water. Plus, this year, she is finally tall enough to stand in the 3ft part of the pool!
She just beams when she talks about how she can swim now!
It is a neighborhood tradition to go to the 4th of July bike parade. Once again, we decorated the wagon and this year, Isabella's scooter and helmet. It is always a fun time, even though it only lasts a couple of minutes. The kids all enjoy it. This year, it was very hot, and we spent most of the day at the pool with family. What a great time!
Today was the last day Isabella will be at dance class before summer break. The girls have learned a dance for a recital, called "Babyface". Unfortunately, we are going to be out of town, so Isabella won't be in it this year. She doesn't mind and loves doing it!
