2 weeks old

Isabella is now 2 weeks old. We went to the doctor yesterday for her 2 week check-up. Everything is fine! She now weighs 4 lbs 14 oz, which is up from her birth weight! She is eating alot, so I wasn't surprised that she had gained weight. This is a picture of Isabella in her car seat. It shows just how tiny she is.

Isabella Marie Martini Has Arrived

As you all know by now, Isabella Marie was born on July 12 at 9:00pm. Weighing just 4lb 12 oz and 19 inches long. She is a beautiful and healthy little girl, even though she is a couple of weeks early. I think she is growing a little more each day. We are all doing well, just trying to get into the swing of things. What a life change, but definitely for the better! Our first family picture was taken at the hospital just before coming home. (No we did not plan on all of us wearing pink) Since she is now 1 week old, we have decided to attach her 1 week old picture. (Jill did a little photo shoot with Isabella yesterday.) By the way, she has to wear preemie diapers and preemie clothes aren't too small.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

Happy 4th! This morning went witnessed our first neighborhood bike parade. We met Jill, Alex and Jackson, who just moved into the "hood", and watched all of the greatly decorated bikes, stroller, and wagons. What a fun experience it was and will continue to be as our kids grow older! By the way, Jill is now over 36 weeks along, so Jellybean could be making her arrival very soon! We will continue to keep you posted. She is feeing great and starting a little bit of the nesting to get ready.

The 8th Month

The 33 week belly

We are now counting down the weeks until Jellybeans arrival. The whole experience has gone pretty quickly without many complaints. Jill is pretty tired by the end of the day and Jellybean is giving her LOTS of heartburn. (Maybe that means she will have a lot of hair!) Those are the only complaints Jill has right now. Everyone keeps telling us, with summer here, the last month will be miserable. I don't think that will be true. Jill is still always cold! We are definitely looking forward to seeing what Jellybean looks like and just pray day to day that she is healthy and that Jill has a good delivery.

An Unexpected Ultrasound

We are now approching week 31 of this pregnancy. At our last doctors appointment, our doctor felt that because my belly is not measuring quite big enough, that we should have an ultrasound. Dr. Zart assured us that there is nothing to be concerned about. This ultrasound was to check to make sure there was enough amniotic fluid and that the baby is growing as she should. Everything looked good, except that the babies abdomen is smaller than normal at this stage. So, we have to go back in 3 weeks for another ultrasound to measure the abdomen again. The doctor assured us, again, that there is nothing to be concerned about. So, we have a couple of new pictures of our little girls face. We thought we would post the pictures so you all can see too. ( I think she might have the Hohulin lips!)

Three Months To Go & Counting

Jill has started the last trimester. She is officially 28 weeks along. At our last doctors appointment, the doctor said everything is going well. Also at that appointment, Jill had to drink a yummy Orange cocktail and then wait an hour before getting blood drawn. The doctor is checking to make sure that Jill has not developed gestational diabetes. This is a common test done for all pregnant women. We will find out the results in about a week. Jill had heard many stories that the Orange Cocktail was gross...but she said it wasn't bad at all!

We know many of you are curious to see how the "growing belly" is looking at 28 weeks. So, we have taken another picture for you all to see. We decided not to update Anthony's "belly" photo, as his has not changed since the last time.

We also took a weekend Childbirth class this weekend. Wow, what a learning experience! I don't know if we are now more prepared or more scared then we were before. On a serious note, it was a great class to take and we are glad we took it.

A Great Trip to Rhode Island

Sorry for neglecting the blog so much the past few weeks! But I thought I'd share a picture with you of us while we were out in Rhode Island last weekend for our friend's wedding. Anthony's friend, Brian, worked in Grand Junction as a sportscaster during Anthony's time there .. and he was a groomsman in the wedding (as Brian was in our wedding). Brian married his lovely bride, Kerrie, in a stunning setting of Newport, Rhode Island. This picture of Jill and I was during the only 2 hour window we were there (and keep in mind that we were in Newport for 4 days!) that the sun actually came out from behind the clouds! But you can tell from the gorgeous background that you are probably like us -- we want to go back to Rhode Island in the summertime to get the full experience of the ocean, cliffs, etc. (And how poetic was it that the sun made its only appearance during the wedding pictures after the ceremony on Saturday afternoon?!)
Apart from the rain, clouds and cold wind off the cold water for 3+ days, we had a great time catching up with old friends from the TV world and meeting new ones at Brian & Kerrie's wedding. Both families were extremely gracious to all us "outsiders" with a weekend full of activities. And little jellybean (aka the baby) seemed to like her time in Rhode Island, too!
We hope all is well with everyone out there in blog-land! Drop us a note when you can!
